The European SME Fund Ideas Powered for Business officially opens its doors for 2026 to support small and medium-sized enterprises in protecting their intellectual property. 

The European Patent Office initiative provides grants in the form of vouchers, with preliminary estimates putting the total budget for this year at over 20 million euros. 

This is an exceptional opportunity for companies to secure legal certainty and market advantage, taking advantage of European financing on preferential terms. The fund becomes available on 02.02.2026 and stops accepting applications on 04.12.2026 or until the funds are exhausted. 

Save up to 75% on registering your trademark

Voucher 2 of the program is specifically designed for the registration of trademarks and designs. It can be used by all Bulgarian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). 

The fund reimburses 75% of application fees at national and EU level (through the EUIPO). The maximum amount each company can save is €700. 

In practice, if the trademark registration fee is, for example, €260, the business will actually pay only €65 after the refund from the fund, with the remaining amount being covered by the grant.
