For the third year of its existence, the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Fund announced the launch of the program "Ideas Powered for Business SME Fund". Together with the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the Fund provides grant-based financial support for the protection of intellectual property (IP) rights.
The program, active from January 22, 2023 to December 6, 2024, offers vouchers for various aspects of IP, tailored to the specific needs of SMEs. Each voucher has a limited validity period, incentivizing businesses to apply when they have a current need.
The program provides support in the following areas:
Recovery of 75% from fees for registration of trademarks and designs in national and European institutions.
Reimbursement of 75% from national and European patent filing fees.
Possibility of reimbursement of 50% from legal costs for a European patent.

If you want to register your trademark, but the high fees of the institutions have so far been an obstacle for you, the European Union offers to cover the 50% of the basic fees for trademark and design applications through a €20 million grant fund to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) maximize their intellectual property assets.
